Our company is deeply committed to supporting Connecticut Children's Medical Center, the only hospital in the state and region dedicated exclusively to the care of children. For eight years, our employees have hosted a charity golf outing with all the proceeds benefiting the cancer program at the Medical Center. In addition, the employees conduct an annual holiday toy-drive for the children.
Our owner and president, Glen Greenberg, is a member of the Medical Center's Board, and recently chaired a $5 Million capital campaign to create a new, state-of-the-art facility at the Connecticut Children's Medical Center to care for kids with cancer and blood disorders that will be double the size of existing care spaces.
We contributed $150,000 to name the new on-site blood laboratory. The existence of a specialized lab and on-site technician will provide for analysis of blood counts within minutes, not hours. This allows for faster decision making regarding chemotherapy treatments, transfusions and planning for admission to the hospital versus going home. This new service will be of great benefit to the patients and families, and will enhance the efficiency of their healthcare team.
